Among the eight Portuguese companies that have received this distinction, Quidgest has been recognised in the category “Internationalization”. This award is dedicated to Quidgest for its business strategy and rapid expansion in the UK market, through a local office in London that was opened in 2008 and operates under the name ´Quid Software Engineering´.
This year, the company aims to expand its international network of QuidNet partners, resulting in a greater number of companies using Genio, our platform that automatically generates high level code. This initiative stimulates knowledge transfer in practice by means of projects in cooperation with universities that have potential to commercialize and offering proposals to public and private companies in consortium with British entities. Genio became the most valuable asset of Quid Software Engineering. The platform is the result of a high investment in R&D at Quidgest, and creates a competitive advantage for organizations by permitting a significant reduce of costs and short time-to-market. Cristina Marinhas, CEO of Quidgest says: “The support of UKTI by offering various business opportunities was fundamental during the expansion of Quidgest towards the British market.” Besides the office in London, Quidgest also has offices in Madrid, East-Timor, joint-ventures in Lithuania, São Tomé and Princípe, Mozambique and local partners in Angola and Germany.
